A beautiful art style wasted on an incredibly generic action platformer.

Makes you feel like a Space Marine, which is an accomplishment, but there isn't much meat to the gameplay.

A worthy successor to possibly the best game of all time.

A fantastic first person horror story game. Highly recommended if you like first person shooter style games with an emphasis on melee combat. It will scare you!

This new baby Bjork game is pretty great.

I really want to like this... but I just don't 'get it'.

As perfect a Umihara Kawase game as we'll ever likely to have. Mostly valuable for being a handy version of both original games.

Yes, Shun improves on it (testing voting up comments). Umihara Kawase DS actually provides a faithful port of both games, if you are looking for your complete grappling hook girl-on-fish experience on the move.

A faithful port of Outrun 2 (or a stripped down version of Coast 2 Coast). It lacks the additional single-player modes, and is currently no longer available to download since the Ferrari licence expired in 2010. But still, it's a perfect, smooth little game that is always a pleasure to play.

The Guardian Heroes of the 'noughties, and a fantastic late era PS2 game.

The current cover art is for King's Field II in the US, but the title of King's Field II in Japan was King's Field I in the US. Since the other King's Field games on this site are listed in proper order with their Japanese covers, this one should do the same. update: I see the titles have now been edited. That works, too. :)

Fetch quest, fetch quest. Pixel hunt, fetch quest, fetch quest. Shoddy combat, combine random items, backtrack, fetch quest! Pixel hunt, shoddy combat, pixel hunt, fetch quest? Random guessing puzzle, fetch quest, pixel hunt!

I really dug this one. Reminded me a bit of Supercow. Pretty disappointed by the length though. Only three short, similar areas?

Lovely indie Flash platformer with a Gameboy monochrome motif. Features a surprisingly stirring chiptune soundtrack. While it continues the tradition of harder "masocore" indie platformers, it's much more forgiving than most of those, even in spite of some brutal rules.

This game got me interested in Italy for awhile when I was a kid.

Combines shmup gameplay with a grappling hook in order to move around the screen. A clever enough idea, but a very barebones title with only a single screen. Certainly worth one dollar though.

Features a surprisingly fast paced turn based battle system which takes the rolling counter of EarthBound, a novelty in that game, and fleshes it out as a crucial feature. Combined with the brilliant inclusion of rhythm combos in players' attacks, Mother 3 is pretty much the actualization of the Dragon Quest approach to the RPGs. It doesn't hurt that the melancholy story and its endearing cast of misfits are engaging either.

This is the second-best grappling hook game ever. The best is Umihara Kawase Shun. I'm mostly testing out the comment feature here.

challenging and funny silly microgames make this a blast to play.

A follow up to Redneck Rampage, also uses a modified Duke 3D engine. I don't believe an FPS ever since has utilized decoy ducks.

Sort of a cross between Out of This World and the Sega Master System game Zillion. Apparently the game's plot plays out very differently depending on how ruthlessly you play it.

An incredibly disappointing and frustrating final boss still doesn't keep the rest of this game's over-the-top Treasure awesomeness from shining through.

The PAL version of the Wii version of this actually supports the Classic and the Gamecube Controllers with their respective D-pads unlike the US one. Just a small note.

Fixes a lot of the problems with the original version of the game to make it actually enjoyable. There's a translation patch for it available here: http://psx-scene.com/forums/f164/ff12-international-zodiac-job-system-english-conversion-62222/
